December 15 – 9 days to Christmas

It’s December already, 9 days to go to Christmas Eve, or 10 days till Christmas Day. I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping. As I sit here and feel myself slowing down for the Christmas break, I still have a few things to do and finish off. But my mind and body are ready to take a break. To slow down, to relax and enjoy a few days of doing nothing…. who am I kidding. I can not do nothing, its not in my DNA just as my husband, he will tell you. But I will force myself to, I have to for my well being and my own health.

This year had been a roller coaster with two businesses on the go. Photography and Macrame, they both give me different things, I love them both equally and have no plans on slowing down or giving up either one. But I do need to find balance and fit me in there somewhere as well as my husband and family.

I realised that I haven’t taken as many personal photos this year, which makes me sad. I’m a scrapbooker and love telling our story through photos, I have the important bits… Alex turning 18, our anniversary trip and Lara’s first car and the new member of the family, Zoe. But I don’t have enough of the every day stuff, the stuff thats behind the scenes, the stuff that life is made up of. I use to take a daily photo and post it on my Instagram , sometimes with my DSLR but mostly with my iPhone, but a photo is still a photo and they did get printed out. I need to get back to it…. I miss it.

Next year is already shaping up to be a huge one! with bookings already in my planner, starting early January. Macrame Workshops booked for Feb and March and more dates to be released soon, plus one huge mile stone to come in November… (more on that early next year). And a huge amount of blog posts that need to make it to the blog, stay tuned.

So next years plan is this, look after my overall wellbeing.

  1. start taking more daily photos for me and my scrapbook and read more books  – mental wellbeing
  2. start looking after my health and my body – physical wellbeing
  3. plan more dates with my husband & time as a family with the kids and quality time with close friends – relationships
  4. get back to mediation – spiritual wellbeing
  5. work on my two businesses – financial wellbeing

As I still have some unfinished business for this year, I will be officially on holidays as of the 20th of December until the 4th of January. With that I would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year!

Hope to see you and photograph you and your family in 2018.
